All are welcome to a lecture to be sponsored jointly by the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America and the Department of Classics, UMCP.  Dr. Bjorn Loven of the University of Copenhagen will speak on "The Athenian Naval Bases in the Piraeus:  The Backbone of the World's First Democracy."  The lecture will begin at 7 PM and will be preceded by a reception at 6:30.
