Teaching Rome at Home: A Conference

Classics Thursday, May 2 – Saturday, May 4 2019 Two locations (see attached program)

This conference, with a keynote address on May 2 by Professor Hunter Rawlings, will provide discussion and practical advice on teaching Latin and ancient Roman culture today, with special emphasis on subjects of urgent concern such as race, ethnicity, and gender relations.  The program is attached below.  There is no registration fee, but if you plan to come please RSVP to Lillian Doherty, LDoherty@umd.edu, by April 25 if possible.

PLEASE NOTE:  The lecture by Dr. Rawlings will take place in Ulrich Recital Hall, in Tawes Hall; the rest of the conference (Friday and Saturday) will take place in 0106 Francis Scott Key Hall.
