GREEK MINOR NOW INCLUDES MODERN GREEK

GREEK MINOR NOW INCLUDES MODERN GREEK

In December the Department’s minor in Ancient Greek was revised to include a new track in Modern Greek.  (All credits must be in EITHER Ancient or Modern Greek, not a combination.)  The new minor, called the Minor in Greek Language and Culture, requires a minimum of 15 credit hours, 9 of which must be at the 300 or 400 level.  At least one of the upper-level courses must have the GREK prefix.  One or two of the upper-level courses may have the CLAS prefix; these are literature and culture courses taught in English translation.  For full information, see the description of the minor at http://classics.umd.edu/academicprograms/undergraduate/minor#ancientgreek.

For advising or to declare the minor, please contact Dr. Polyvia Parara, pparara@umd.edu, or Dr. Lillian Doherty, ldoherty@umd.edu.
