Meghan Lockwood's experience studying in Rome at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies

This semester, Meghan Lockwood has been studying in Rome at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies (also sometimes called Centro). Here's what she has said about her experience:

"During my semester so far at the Centro, we visited the archaeological sites at Tarquinia and Cerveteri to learn about Etruscan burial practices, tombs, and material culture. We studied at the Basilica di San Clemente and the Church of Sant’Omobono to study how the modern city of Rome was built on top of the ancient structures. My classes this semester include The Ancient City, Vergil's Eclogues, and Italian  In addition to my studies, I’ve been interning at the American Academy in Rome. My responsibilities include cataloging artifacts from their Archeological Study Collection and preparing the items for a digital database. My favorite part about living in Rome is interacting with its history and having access to incredible sites and museums while learning with the community of scholars at the Centro."
