A New Summer Course in Greece

The Department of Classics, in conjunction with the Education Abroad Office, is offering a new summer course to be taught in Greece.  CLAS 369: The History and Archaeology of Corinth and its Environs in Ancient Greece, will be taught by Professor Jorge Bravo, Assistant Professor of Classics and Co-Director of the American Excavations at Kenchreai.  The course will run from May 26 to June 20, 2015, and will engage students in hands-on work with the archaeological record of ancient Greece.  In addition, students will hear guest lectures by an interdisciplinary team of scholars, visit important archaeological sites and museums in the region, experience modern Greek life in the small town setting of Archaia Korinthos, and enjoy hiking and swimming excursions.

Any undergraduate may apply, including undergraduates from other institutions, who may be eligible to transfer credit.

The Department can offer a limited number of scholarships to majors who wish to take the course.  Non-majors may explore scholarship opportunities through the Education Abroad Office.
