Undergraduate Classics Major Bryan Toth to Study Abroad at the University of Melbourne during the Spring 2015 Semester

Third-year Classics undergraduate Bryan Toth has recently been accepted into the University of Maryland’s first general exchange program with the University of Melbourne in Australia during the spring of 2015.

Third-year Classics undergraduate Bryan Toth has recently been accepted into the University of Maryland’s first general exchange program with the University of Melbourne in Australia during the spring of 2015. During his semester abroad, he intends to further his Classics studies by taking a course on Petronius with Associate Professor Parshia Lee-Stecum, along with a course on Ancient Greek prose with Dr. K. O. Chong-Gossard. He is extremely excited to visit Australia, and he is looking forward to experiencing a new country and culture.

His twin sister, Emily Toth, who is currently employed by the UMD Classics Department as a Digital Communications Assistant, will also be studying abroad during the spring of 2015. She is a third-year Criminology & Criminal Justice (CCJS) undergraduate at the University of Maryland, and she will be attending Massey University at Palmerston North in New Zealand. Her goal over the upcoming semester will be to complete the remaining requirements for her CCJS Major—she will be taking four courses:

Sociology of Death and DyingEarly RomeTrauma and the MediaAn Introduction to Military Operations

She is looking forward to visiting the movie set of the Lord of the Rings during her time abroad, and she is excited to announce that she will be documenting her experience in New Zealand via video/blog.
