Undergraduate Elliott Rebello receives De Luca Prize

Elliott Rebello, an undergraduate Classics and Neurobiology double major, has received the Antonio and Elena De Luca Award of the Italian Cultural Society of Washington D.C. The award honors students of Latin or Greek culture or language recognized by their professors for their excellence in classical studies. The award also comes with a substantial cash prize and recognition at the ICS' annual awards banquet.  Rebello will receive the award on May 20 at the Embassy of Italy.

The previous two recipients have also been UMD Classics students: Katrina Szabo, BA 2014, and Emily Mohr, MA 2015.

Elliott is also a member of the Senior Classical League and will be attending and organizing the annual convention of the National Junior Classical League this summer.
