2016 Study Abroad - Program Deadlines and Scholarship Options

This year, we are excited to announce three short-term study abroad programs sponsored by the Classics Department: two in Italy, and one in France.

For more information detailing each program and how to apply, please refer to our Study Abroad page at https://classics.umd.edu/beyondtheclassroom/studyabroad.

The deadline for the winter-term and spring-break program applications is October 1st, 2015.

Thanks to a generous grant from the National Italian American Foundation, we are excited to announce specially designated scholarships and airfare subsidies for the following programs:

  • Winter in Italy: Ancient Greek and Roman Culture in Context
  • Summer in Italy: Are We Rome?

A number of full and partial scholarships, which may include airfare costs, will be awarded annually on a combined need and merit basis for each program. First priority will be given to majors and minors in Classics.

For the winter-term program, second priority will be given to majors in related disciplines.

For the summer-term program, second priority will be given to students enrolled in the related semester course, CLAS289A.

The scholarship application deadline is September 24th, 2015.
