Associate Professor Francisco Barrenechea finds success with online course redesign

Congratulations to our very own Associate Professor Francisco Barrenechea for his feature in the Teaching and Learning Transformation Center's weekly newsletter! He successfully redesigned his popular course on ancient humor, CLAS275, for the online learning environment. The Teaching and Learning Transformation Center spotlighted Barrenechea's use of technology in the virtual classroom as a campus-wide benchmark for effective teaching innovation.

Dr. Barrenechea's CLAS275 course is an introduction to humor through the lens of ancient Greek and Roman comedies, which he pairs with contemporary examples of humor. He shares how he refashioned his course for online learning:

"I did a complete overhaul of the introductory section for the course – for which I recorded the video that is featured on the spotlight – and I also redesigned the front page to streamline it and make it easier to navigate for the students who want to access all of the content for the course (readings, assignments, quizzes, etc.) from there."

We are very proud of his successful work!
