Outstanding Grad TA award to Marissa Hicks

Marissa Hicks, a second year M.A.

Marissa Hicks, a second year M.A. student in the department, was recently chosen to receive an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant award from the Graduate School.  This is a signal honor, as only 2% of graduate assistants at the University receive the award every year.  Marissa has been a T.A. for a number of different courses, including Greek & Roman Mythology and two study abroad courses, "Classical Myths in Paris" and "Ancient Greek and Roman Culture in Context."  She was also the recipient of the 2018 NIAF Pellegri Scholar fellowship in the department of Classics.  Next year she will be entering the doctoral program in Classics at Columbia University.
