Professor Bravo Wins Tier 1 Seed Grant

Professor Bravo has been awarded a Tier 1 Seed Grant from the University of Maryland to support his work at the site of Kenchreai, the eastern port of ancient Corinth in Greece.

Professor Bravo has been awarded a Tier 1 Seed Grant from the University of Maryland to support his work at the site of Kenchreai, the eastern port of ancient Corinth in Greece. The award of $34,000 will enable Professor Bravo and his collaborators to use GIS, geological coring, and geophysical prospection at the site in order to understand and describe the evolving ancient environment and the history of Greek settlement and use of the harbor. These results will serve as a basis for future grant applications as well as for permits for excavation. The projects will also add to the educational component of the archaeology course he will teach on site (CLAS380), which is open to undergraduate applicants through Education Abroad.
