Amanda Clemens

Graduate Assistant I, Classics

Amanda graduated from St. John’s College in 2023 with a BA in Liberal Arts. There, she wrote her senior thesis on Plato’s Meno and Lucian’s Hermotimus, and how each text approaches the possibility of human knowledge. She then went on to complete a two-year post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she took an interest in curse tablets, amulets, and the Greek magical papyri. Her current interests include ancient magic, epigrams, and lyric poetry.

She is originally from Ardmore, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she enjoys hand spinning and other crafts, as well as spending time outside with her pet chickens!
