Dr. Joan Burton is Director of the Federal Semester, Global Semester, and Individualized Studies programs at Maryland. She holds B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in Classics from the University of California, Berkeley, and taught at Trinity University in San Antonio before coming to Maryland.
