On Thursday, April 2, seventeen new members were initiated into the campus chapter, Zeta Nu, of Eta Sigma Phi, the national Classics honor society.  To be eligible for membership, students must have completed or be registered for a course at the 300 or 400 level in Latin or ancient Greek and must have maintained a B+ average in the language courses as well as a B average overall.  The ceremony, conducted by current members of the society, was followed by a reception and a highly entertaining illustrated lecture by Mr. John Kelly of the Washington Post on the topic of "Red Sand:  Do You Like Movies about Gladiators?"
