First NIAF Pellegri Scholar chosen!

Talia Chicherio was recently chosen as the first NIAF Pellegri Scholar in the Department of Classics.

Talia Chicherio, our first NIAF Pellegri Scholar, is a second-year MA student in Classics here at the University of Maryland.  She holds a BA in English and Latin from Oberlin College. In the fall of 2015, the Pellegri fellowship will support Talia's research as she studies the influence of Cicero's political writings on James Madison's contributions to the founding documents of the American republic. The resulting paper will also consider the legacy of the Cicero-Madison connection in the United States today. This summer, Talia is excited to participate in the Gabii Project, an archaeological program located in Rome, Italy.
