Prof. Wasdin took her Latin class to explore the rare book collection of the Library of Congress.

The graduate students of Prof. Katherine Wasdin's Seminar on the History and Development of the Latin Language, along with other interested faculty and undergraduate students, visited the Rare Books Room of the Library of Congress on Friday, December 2nd. Librarian Mariana Stoll displayed some of the library's extensive holdings, from Greek papyri to early Latin texts and the first printed edition of Homer, and discussed the history of Latin education and production and circulation of early books.
