On October 3rd, the Classics Department held a welcome reception for its newest Assistant Professor, Dr. Katherine Wasdin. We are all grateful that she has joined the team!
On October 3rd, the Classics Department held a welcome reception for its newest Assistant Professor, Dr. Katherine Wasdin. We are all grateful that she has joined the team!
Dr. Wasdin holds a Ph.D. in Classics from Yale University and taught at the George Washington University before coming to Maryland. Her fields of research include Greek and Roman poetry, women in classical antiquity, and the reception of the classics. Her current book project is on the reception of the Roman poet Catullus by postmodern women. This semester she is teaching a Latin course on Catullus and Horace and a graduate seminar on Roman elegy.
